Having been a horticultural designer of corporate interiors, terraces and rooftop gardens in New York City for thirty five years, and a bit of a 'Type A' personality, I am particular. As you may imagine, I love plants! Since moving to Tucson, I have met and spoken with many landscapers, taken several, various classes, etc.
In this vital, rainwater capture project, I was looking for three things......Integrity, professionalism and beauty. I interviewed three companies. Ahisma Landscaping was far and away the obvious choice.
In my front yard, we implemented passive earthworks. Justin and I worked together on the design, guided by his knowledge of how and what is needed for maximum capture success. His crew was excellent, always polite, knowledgable and very hard working. His estimation of materials was accurate although we did add some rock as we worked with a combination of larger and smaller 'riprap' (a new word for me). Justin always took the time I needed to discuss and explain what he was doing and why. You could not ask for someone more professional.
Where there was 'Mars,' a sheet of sloping gravel atop plastic, there are now terraces of basins and berms, mulch to enrich the soil and invite lizards, a graceful path to both the sidewalk and the driveway and fabulous fragrance! I couldnʼt ask for either a more beautifully designed landscape or a more well-executed project.
